PAINTINGS BY SANDRA DONNELLAN

After spending 24 years in banking, Sandra Donnellan focused her interest to art in 1998. At that time, she was already working to create and sell her own pottery. She was introduced to pastels in 2001 through her friendship with acclaimed artists Liz Haywood-Sullivan and Donna Rossetti-Bailey and their affiliation with a local arts society. Since then, she has studied with a number of well-known artists aside from Ms. Haywood-Sullivan and Ms. Rossetti-Bailey including Albert Handel, Terry Ludwig, Burt Yarborough, Page Railsback and others. In addition to this independent study, she has enjoyed travel to paint the landscapes of France, Spain, Mexico, and in various locations the US. Ms. Donnellan has exhibited in a number of juried shows in Massachusetts where she resides. She has won awards at South Shore Arts Center and North River Arts Society. She served as artist-in-residence at South Shore Art Center in 2005 teaching students about both clay and pastels. Her paintings are in private collections throughout the US. She most recently has been inspired by the lush and tropical landscape of coastal South Carolina which she visits as often as possible.
